Little is known about Johnny Haddow, who only played six games for Leeds United. They were all but one at Right Half in the 1941-42 Football League Northern Section (First Championship). His debut came in the game with Bradford Park Avenue at Elland Road in a 4-0 win, and then he played at Saltergate the following week in a 0-3 loss to Chesterfield. Three weeks later he featured in a 2-4 defeat by Newcastle United at St James’ Park and two weeks after that he played in the first of three consecutive games when he played in a 4-2 home win over Bradford City. His final two games were in the reverse fixture with Bradford City at Valley Parade which saw Leeds go down 0-5 and in the final game he was at Left Half in a 2-4 defeat by Huddersfield Town at Leeds Road. He also made one guest appearance for Luton Town in the 1941-42 season. Although it is thought that he was associated with Glasgow Rangers in the War years, it is thought that Haddow played three Scottish League games for Partick Thistle in the 1948-49 season and a further one such appearance in 1949-50, during his career there from 1948 to 1950. It is not thought that he played professionally in the Football League.
