Outside Right

Born: Unknown: Unknown

Debut: v Chesterfield (a): 21-05-1945

Height & Weight: Unknown

Little is known about H. Downing. He only played one game for Leeds. It came in the 1944-45 Football League Northern Section (Second Championship) final match, when he played at Outside Right in a 1-6 defeat by Chesterfield at Saltergate. "There was a Downing selected at Wing-Half for the pre-season First Team v Reserves game in 1945-46, but this appears to be the last connection with the club." (Information kindly supplied by Neil Roche). It is not thought that Downing played professionally in the Football League.
