Little is known about Horace Wright. He is thought to have been on the books of Wolverhampton Wanderers during the War years. He played three consecutive games for Leeds United at Inside Left in the 1943-44 Football League Northern Section First Championship. He made his debut on 4th September 1943 in a 1-5 home defeat by Sunderland and kept his position for the next game at Elland Road which saw Bradford City inflict another 1-5 defeat on United. His final game came in the reverse fixture at Valley Parade on 18th September 1943 when United drew 3-3. It is not thought that Wright played professionally in the Football League.
