Crewe Alexandra in July 1960, where he also played fifty-five League games. Crewe sold him
to Leeds in December 1962 for £6,000. After serving as deputy to Gary Sprake, he went to
Nottingham Forest in February 1966 for £5,000, where he found himself being kept out of the
team by Peter Grummitt. Unable to get a game in the first team he went to Leicester City on
loan in August 1967, where he played six League games. After his return from loan, he played
nineteen League games for Forest before he joined Fulham for £10,000 in December 1968. He
retired in September 1969 after twelve games at Craven Cottage and began work as a security
guard. Between June 1965 and February 1966, Leeds had two goalkeepers by the name of
B.Williamson on their books. The lesser well known, Bobby, went to Rochdale in July 1966,
having previously been with Stenhousemuir, Arbroath, St Mirren and Barnsley without playing
for the Leeds first team.
