Little is known about Leslie Taylor, other than he played in the Isthmian League. "He played for Tufnell Park & Wimbledon and appeared four times for Amateur F.A. XI (who played six matches most seasons: against the Army, Navy, Air Force, Oxford University, Cambridge University, and the Universities Athletic Union, which were effectively the Amateur international trials). He also represented Isthmian League against the Athenian League. In 1942-43 he also played three games as a War-time guest with Bury in 1942-43." (Information kindly supplied by Neil Roche). Taylor played the three consecutive games for Leeds United in the 1941-42 Football League Northern Section Second Championship at Outside Right in the 5-0 win at Elland Road against Rochdale on 17th January 1942, the 3-2 home win against Barnsley and his final game for Leeds in a 0-1 defeat by Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on 21st February 1942. It is not thought that Taylor played professionally in the Football League.
