Horace Robbins was well known and respected in Amateur Football and represented England and toured New Zealand, Australia and Ceylon with the England Amateur team in 1937. He played with Dulwich Hamlet in the Isthmian League and was one of four men who played in three Dulwich Hamlet FA Amateur Cup winning sides in the 1930's, when they lifted the Cup in 1931-32, 1933-34 and 1936-37 and were beaten finalists in 1932-33. He was also the first man to make five hundred first team appearances for the club. He played one game for Leeds United in the 1942-43 Football League Northern Section (First Championship). He played at Left Half on 24th October 1942 in a 1-2 defeat by Sunderland at Elland Road. Robbins made five appearances for the England Amateur International team between 1934 and 1938.(Information kindly supplied by Neil Roche). It is not thought that Robbins played professionally in the Football League.
