Born: Ballaghaderreen, Ireland: 1896

Debut: v Boothtown (h): 11-09-1920

5’8” 11st 7lb (1920)

He did not play in the Football League with United, but was one of several Leeds players who played for the club in the Preliminary Rounds of the FA Cup in 1920-21 when the club had to play reserve and other players as these games conflicted with the first team games. He was the first United player to score a hat-trick, managing the feat on debut against Boothtown, in a 5-2 victory. He was signed from Blackpool, where he made one League appearance without scoring, in August 1920 for £250. He spent 1921-22 on United’s books but played for Ashton National, scoring thirty goals. In May 1922 he was transferred to Halifax Town, but did not play in the first team. Later that season he rejoined Blackpool and played one more League game for them without scoring. He had a spell at Walsall, who he joined in 1923 and scored twice in eighteen League games in the Third Division North. After the Saddlers he moved into Non-League with Morecambe and then Clitheroe.
