Little is known about Hugh McTavish. It is believed that he was on the books of Watford during the Second World War. He only played one game for Leeds United, at Outside Left on 21st September 1940 in the 1940-41 North Regional League 0-0 draw at Elland Road against Manchester City. It is believed that during the War Years he also had one game for Watford and one game for Bradford City in the 1943-44 season. It is not thought that McTavish played professionally in the Football League.
