W. Feathers was a guest who played at Right Half in the home fixture with Sheffield United on the 2nd December 1916. City found themselves with only ten men available and accepted his offer. Nothing was known of the player, other than he was with the Royal Flying Corps and had figured as a forward in Army football, but played right-half in a 2-0 win secured by virtue of goals from Arthur Price and Clem Stephenson, and it proved to be his only appearance for Leeds City.
